Let's look at the bright side of this date. Our own Sam Stosur has won the US Open Championship against their own Serena Williams. Sam's first Grand Slam title! Her being the first Australian woman since 1973 who won the US Open. That was wow to watch. Sam played brilliantly, most importantly she was perfectly calm and (finally, for a change!) not intimidated by Williams as the rest of the WTA tour were.
Then I got a "Hurray" email from my mum - my little niece and Skye's cousin was born in Minsk on 9/11. Impatiently waiting for the next European morning to hear more about her and my SIL.
