Oh, I have indeed read DDG. Then I listened to your audio version, then I read it again. I may have some slight obsessive-compulsive tendencies. If I would stop with all the re-reading, I might have time to read a greater number of different things, but when I find a fic I like, I need to spend some time with it; the stuff I like tends to be layered, and repays close examination, which is certainly true of Sarah's fiction.

I have also listened to part one of The Way We Get By, which I had not realized was related to DDG, so thank you for pointing it out. Am also looking forward (impatiently) to the audio version of the rest of that.

You asked about what else I might like to hear. I have been avoiding starting to read Quality of Mercy, since it has many parts and is another WIP. I am having enough stress waiting for the next part of DDG without adding to the trauma. That said, however, if there were an audio version, I would be probably succumb to the temptation to start, since I can pretend to do useful things like clean while I listen.

I haven't started to read the Shoebox stuff yet. I like to organize my obsessions and deal with them in an orderly fashion, and at the moment the priority obsession is Harry/Draco. I did dip into the first bit of Shoebox, and I can tell that I'm going to love it, but I do still need to find some limited time for sleeping, working, and suchlike real life activities, so it will just have to wait its turn.

If you'd like to move to the wilds of Saskatchewan, I'm pretty sure I could get you access to a fully equipped sound studio (I know people who know people). If you're not up for that (it's a dry cold, really!), we'll just have to wait for Dame Fortune to favour me with that lottery win. It might help if I actually remember to buy a ticket this week.

I'm going to friend you, just as soon as I remember how to do that. You need not feel obliged to friend me back. In fact, since I only ever comment on other people's postings and never actually post anything myself, friending me is kind of a moot point.

Have a lovely time pretending not to know about homework assignments. I encourage this choice, since it is likely to result in my needs being satisfied.

And a Happy New Year to you, too!

Well I've finished DDG6, so it will be up tomorrow or the next day, depending on the number of errors I find on the bus ride to the fast internet :) I'll most likely be doing the Way We Get By almost exclusively after that since I'm avoiding having to do the Banshee's voice in DDG7 (I swear she wrote that just to harass me. "Let's see that audio lady do this! Muahahaha, I love being evil," I picture her saying). I love Quality of Mercy - it's what introduced me to Sarah in the first place - so that will certainly come in the future, but I don't want to be swallowed. What you said, about eating and such. Also universities might reject me if I fall asleep in class (somehow, they would KNOW).

I've not been to Saskatchewan as of yet (I was planning a cross-country train trip for next summer but it's been exclipsed by other plans), but I would move there in a heartbeat right now, because here it is neither cold nor dry (we're also out of bread). It is very wet and foggy and disgusting and it looks like March. Also, you know, the recording system would be a draw. I'll have my people call your people ;) Also, Saskatchewan has recording studios? For who? (Excuse all my lame jokes)

Go right ahead! I'll be glad to friend you back; I love making LJ friends, and it'll be nice to have a little more Canadian influence around :) I'm kind of insane and punctuationally obsessive and I talk about nerdy things, but if you don't mind then that's all right by me. Homework, what homework? I don't remember any homework. My dog did my homework (but I ate it).

Long live the comment!novel.

Mmm, yes, the banshee. I hadn't thought of that. Clearly she is evil. I'd've thought that the veela-parselmouth thing was enough of an audio challenge for one fic, but there it is. You're doing a very nice job handling Harry's veela-parselmouth attack voice, by the way.

With regards to universities and their attitude towards sleeping in class, I am in a position to speak with some authority. Provided you don't snore and draw attention to yourself, most profs would prefer sleeping to chatting, texting, and various other disruptive behaviours. I had some very lovely naps in classes (usually after I had stayed up all night to finish the essay that was due in said class), and never once got in trouble for it. I recommend practicing your technique early and often.

I think I, too, prefer cold and dry to wet and foggy (most days), but the thing you need to understand is that it will still be cold and dry here in March, and probably through April. I love my home and native land, but honestly, six months of winter seems somewhat excessive. On the plus side, we have no cockroaches, and we have more sunlight hours than anywhere else in the country. Gotta look for that silver lining.

And of course we have recording studios - we have to keep ourselves amused somehow for those six months of the year when we live in a deepfreeze. We do this by recording polka music for each other. I joke, mostly.

Insane is good, as is punctuationally obsessive. I find sane people to be boring. Fortunately, after spending time with me, I find that most people are no longer sane.

Since I'm wandering all over the conversational landscape with nary a thought to smooth transitions, it just occured to me that I'd love to hear Underwater Light done as an audio fic. You really should not encourage me, because I may very well put together a list that will keep you from your homework right through your post-grad degree. Have you ever read "The Misadventures of Draco Malfoy, Ferret"? I think that one would be marvellous to read. 'K, I'd better stop now, because if I get on a roll, we may never see the end of it.

Ciao, bella! Talk to you soon!

Clearly I am going to resort to putting my cat up to the microphone and pulling his tail repeatedly or something outrageous like that. Come to think of it, your sound booth/recording studio would probably have a way to make it screechy. *sigh* Such is life for the technologically incompetant.

I'm not planning to sleep at University - a friend of mine calculated that each class is worth around $200 of our money. After a 10-minute doze, I'd wake up and go, "Holy crap, I just lost 40 bucks!" Although I did see several people playing solitaire on their laptops last time I was at a University. I actually had my World Religions teacher tell me to go to sleep once. So I promptly did, and woke up with a binder ring imprint on my face.

Oh, I love winter. That's why it I get so offended when the snow turns all brown and I can see my lawn in January. Also because warm snaps tend to screw up the maple syrup harvest (yes I am a stereotypical Canadian. I also own a lumberjack coat. Bite me). Also: no cockroaches. That settles it - I'm moving to Saskatchewan.

Normal people scare me. I once had a friend who referred to me as the only "normal" one of our group - I thought it was hilarious, and I spent the next week referring to myself as "The Normal One." Yeah, NOT.

I just read UL like, 3 weeks ago. *is guilty* If I read the ferret one, it won't be for a looooooong time, just because I've still got Quality of Mercy (23+parts) and stuff to do, and I don't know if I'll be able to continue this next year at University (needless to say, I'm sure my roommate would RUN AWAY if it got out that I impersonated Mad-Eye Moody).

Arrivederci, amica! (Two can play at that game)
