is educational equality possible? good question. in one classroom, all students would ideally have equal education. however, teacher personality/quality enters into the mix so that the students are not always treated equally.
and even though you offer two students the same information, they won't absorb the same information even if they are of equal social/economic status.
teachers have no control outside the classroom where paris learns to dive and germaine learns to survive.
paris and germaine will never have the same opportunities short of the perfect socialistic society, (and we know that doesn't work well:) but you, al, can have a lifetime impact on both paris and germaine as their teacher. it is an admirable profession and too little appreciated and valued! plus, you will have unbelievably funny stories to tell!

im teaching at a ghetto school and 3 fights broke out in the classroom yesterday. pray for me.
