Stuff
The past few weeks have been pretty busy. I had to hurry and finish my skeletons when I got back from Ireland. They took longer than I expected. Then I had three papers due in a two week period, which was also the time when I had scheduled my dissertation research. I managed to get everything done, but it took a lot of Red Bull to do it. On the upside, I'm now done with all of my essays, crappy as they are, and I've done my dissertation research, and I just have to do reading and write it up now.
I did manage to do some fun things, I went to Blenheim Palace, where Winston Churchill was born. The house was amazing, and the gardens were incredible. I can see why it is a World Heritage Site. I also manged to visit on the day of the Ferrari Owners Club picnic, so I ogled all of the pretty cars. Then I had ice cream on the lawn and pretended that I was a Ferrari owner, before catching the bus and train home.
I also saw Iron Man which was really good. Although I know nothing about Iron Man, so I don't know how it holds up to the comic. My class is planning a group trip to Indiana Jones, the week after next, and I'm going to the Sex and the City Movie at the end of the month, so that should be fun. The big news though is that I'm going to Rome from Tuesday to Friday. I'm really excited as I have always wanted to see Rome and all the things that I studied as an undergraduate.
So, I have been reading Batman, and some of the rumours about RIP. Personally I don't think that they'll ever kill Bruce Wayne off for good. He's too much a part of pop culture. I do think that the Batman that shown up at the beginning of 676 is a replacement though, maybe Bruce is temporarily out of action or only mostly dead or something. I would kind of like the Batman to be Jason or maybe Tim. I think that Dick is doing too well as Nightwing to be Batman.
My preferred scenario is Jason becomes Batman, and takes Damien as Robin, since I think that Jason could give him the tough love he needs, and might actually straighten him out. Then Tim could take over as Red Robin, which would show that he is growing up would maybe let him work out issues with Jason. Barring that I would also like to see Jason as Batman and Tim as Robin to work out their issues. Then Bruce could come back, and realize what a good job Jason has done and he would also work out his issues with Jason.
I suppose I could also deal with Tim as Batman with Damien as Robin, which I suspect is more likely. Or maybe a tag team Jason and Dick both as Batman, and Tim and Damien both as Robin, but I really doubt that.
Of course the twisted part of my brain really, really wants it to be Stephanie in a purple batman costume, as Batman, and either Dick or Jason as Robin, in the short pants, with really hairy legs. Just as a joke. I would be amused.
