The move was successful, and I'm trying to organize my stuff in the new place now. I will say though that moving was much easier when I was not solely reliant on public transportation. I managed though. Unfortunately, we have no internet yet, so I am using the computer at school. The new place is nice though and I even have a balcony, so I'm happy with that. My flatmates are also really nice. Right now there are three of us, even though there are five rooms in the flat, so we may be getting more people later.
This week I went to parts of the international orientation in order to get my new ID card and to learn about renewing my visa. I also finally went to the Globe, which was great. I didn't have time to stay and watch a play this time, but maybe next time I'll do that. I also went to the Imperial War Museum, which was really cool. I only go through the bottom two floors, but they were really good. There was an exhibit on the children who lived through WWII in England, both those who were evacuated and those who stayed. There was also a reconstruction of a WWI trench which you could walk through, and a reconstruction of a WWII bomb shelter that you sat in and listened to bombs falling outside, and then got out to see a reconstruction of a bombed street. It was really interesting.
This weekend I will probably check out Golders Green crematorium (Bram Stroker is supposed to be there) and Hampstead. I saw signs on the tube advertising a production of RENT in the West End. I was tempted to go, but then I heard that the songs are remixed to be pop songs to make it more "relevant" to today, and so now I'm not sure if I want to go or not.
