"Fresh" Food?

Jul 01, 2006 03:54

I was wondering to myself the other day (and I was just reminded of this by the smell of my burritos slathered with hot sauce that the fan is blowing at me) why there aren't more air fresheners that smell like food ( Read more... )

Well I know for a fact that coffee-scented air freshener DOES exist!

It's what cafe's use in the store In the morning before customers arrive and before they start brewing it, it makes it so people who walk by and walk inside are instantly reminded of fresh ground coffee and will want one.
As for food...it's probably because sombody who has just eaten a pizza would not want to think of food, I know after i have a big meal I don't even wanna smell more food.

Oooh... they SO need to start selling that stuff to the general public. I know I'd sure buy it!

Ah, but what about before a meal? Or just to liven up a otherwise stinky car?

I'm sure I'd buy a lot more pizza if my car smelled like it... I'd prefer the smell of pizza of that fake flower crap any day.

You can find such things if you actually go to a candle store. Well, maybe not pizza, but I know ours has coffee, and cinnamon, and apple pie, and sugar cookie (love that one), and gingerbread, and pumpkin spice, and a whole lot of other foods.
Though I guess it seems to me that just desserts make the list, really. Makes sense, I think, as they are much more sensual.

Yeah, I've seen those things in the candle aisle at work... but they don't really smell like coffee, they smell like coffee-scented wax (I both detest the smell of wax, and have a borderline allergy to, it).

Also, one can't exactly burn scented candles in a car. I was thinking more along the lines of a can of the spray stuff, or perhaps one of those little tree things.

You have to buy good quality candle to lose the wax smell.

As for the car, you could always get something like this

*shrugs* Or just pour coffee on the seats every morning :P

Yeah, but I just have a hard time justifying a $20 candle to myself... I'm going to burn it, after all!

A quick googling turned up this...

I'm sure there are other options as well. I believe Yankee Candle (stores in the mall) sells non-wax air fresheners as well, although I think they primarily do car stuff.

But "fresh baked pie" scent would be nice...

Yeah, I've seen one of two... but being as pretty much everyone loves the smell of coffee, why isn't it more common?

Also, that's imitating that mocha crap. I'm talking about the COFFEE coffee. :P

"I like cinnamon rolls. That's why I wish they made, like, a cinnamon roll incense. 'Cause I don't always have time to make a pan. Perhaps I'd rather light a stick, and have my roommates wake up with false hopes."

They actually have that... cinnamon and clove incense. Some of my favorite varieties... I've even seen vanilla a few times, but nothing more creative than that.
