...in which Who is totally aware of itself as myth, the World Tree is in play, the Leaf is life and death and life again, Clara eats the fruit of the Otherworld and is a contradiction, and the Doctor is a Sun God.
(
Do you mind if I tell you a story, one you might not have heard? )
Yeah, agree the sun's energy reaching out does look like regen energy - a further link the Doctor/God as mirror. The regen energy eats up the symbol of true life/death - i'm so stuck at the mo on this point of the Doctor not being able to experience true life and death. And that being why he can't win. I said to someone earlier, it's a metaphor for the show - for the Doctor to truly vanquish his enemies once and for all means the show ending/him dying. Because while he lives and doesn't truly die - him *not* beating them is what keeps the show going.
So, Clara could be read as a threat to the narrative integrity of Who, or to the whole show....bear with me here...she has the power to do things like cleanse him of the sins of the time war by wiping the Daleks, she can break the 4th wall, according to this ep she has the true power of death, also she must be linked in with the Question. The question itself is a threat to the show, it's so self referential - the show is close to breaking its own 4th wall by even dealing in those terms. If she's the one to lead him to Trenzalore....then. I dunno what my conclusion is here *vague hands* :)
