Further update to the

*glee* It's trying to be basically a character study right now, but the muse ran off, so I just needed things that might segue into that (seeing as the story is definitely not done currently, but I don't know what comes next). So that's pefect. Thank you so much!

You're welcome. If you need anything more, just yell really loud in my direction. I'm usually willing to help, but l-a-z-y.

It would actually explain some of why Dean comes off so almost self-consciously macho--because it's an act. I've seen pics of LMG with hair, and yes, rather pretty which would definitely be a hazard as an undercover. Especially to one who's trying desperately to hide the woman she really is with the skin of the man her parts say she is.
One thing I can think of for where to take this: Carter canonically pretty much knows everything, especially about his team, so maybe he figures out the truth of Dean? Possibly Dean gets too drunk around Carter some time and lets something slip?
(The alternative explanation for the macho I've occasionally thought of is that Dean's closer to the gay end of the spectrum and trying his hardest to overcompensate for that, but Dean being trans works even better).

The combination of Carter's caretaking/protective streak and fluid sexuality (imo, anyway) to me add up to a guy who could handle a relationship with someone who's trans. So taking this in that direction could be interesting, although I'll happily read (and if desired beta) gen character study as well.
