The week of doom (last week) has apparently decided to last two weeks. D:
The project technically due on the first is unofficially due the eleventh. Along with a homework assignment. Neither of which I've started. Because...
The project due on the second was postponed until the fourth; the test wasn't bad at all (just happened to, for no reason, study a picture that was literally, in and of itself, a question on the test). The test on the third was cancelled because the class in which we were supposed to review was also cancelled.
Which all, taken together, left me with a project and an 8-page paper due on Friday. Which was, well, not good. So I talked to the prof and was all, "Um, yeah, so how set-in-stone is this 'no late work' policy, because I have this project, and the paper, and it's my birthday...", and he was like "Eh, nbd, I won't get them all graded this weekend anyway, turn it in when you can."
Like most people, I was like "Yay!" and spent all Friday night on that project due at midnight instead. (Got it done at 11:30, and I get the extra credit, w00t.) Then I had every intention of spending my entire Saturday writing the whole paper in one go.
Instead, I spent half of my Saturday researching said paper, more or less, and the other half so burned out oh my god. And Sunday was, uh, worse. Goddamn paper.
So now I have two paragraphs of my paper and a half-written conclusion, and:
A project due on Friday that I haven't started.
Homework due Friday that I haven't even looked at.
And seven more pages of a paper to write that I have to have done as soon as possible if not sooner.
BRB DYING. DX
And clearly it takes being overwhelmed with school work to get me to be productive, because I've totally been cleaning and doing laundry and whatnot. And last night instead of more paper I wrote an epic emo poem. And then this last night/this morning -- well, I knew those trans bunnies come in twos, but I was still hoping to not have to fend off FTM!Neal Caffrey quite so soon. On the contrary, I don't think I've had a muse this insistent since
Chloe Logan. I haven't written anything yet -- that poem was time-wasting enough as it is -- but hopefully I won't forget it all before Saturday comes and I have a spare second to write it down. Wish me luck with that. (Also, if anyone happens to know or have a good guess as to how old Neal and/or Elizabeth are, I'd appreciate that info thrown my way. I am so bad with ages, you have no idea, lol. And um, apparently no matter what version of Neal I'm writing, Neal and Elizabeth are BFFs. Lol, I don't know either. I just write what they tell me. I blame that fic where they were brother and sister (
"brother dearest", and
all its prequels and sequels.))
Speaking of White Collar: I got spoiled for the end (gtfo, noobs on the TV.com forums who don't think to not put spoilers in subject lines!), so it came off as less "holy crap!" and more "wow, that's really cheesy". But the scene just before it? Loved the look on Fowler's face right there, that whole silent no-words-needed conversation. Awesomeness. Thank god this show comes back in January and not March (I'm looking at you, Flash Forward!). And uh, yeah, on that note: Flash Forward needs to come back. Now. Screw this "March" shit. Sigh. Oh, and was there something in the water last week? LTM and Forgotten were both about gambling. Both good, too, so whatever that was in the water, keep it there, guys!
In other news, my boss Nancy came up to me the other day after work and was all, "So, K [my coworker] must have seen your ID or something, she was asking me if you had a sister named [birth name]." And I was all, "o_O No, I changed my ID, like a week after I changed my name." So Nancy was all confused too. "Well, I told her I didn't know what she was talking about, 'cause I didn't know what you wanted me to say and it's not any of her business anyway." (Yeah, I have the best bosses. :)) It occurred to me later that since I haven't been able to change it with Payroll yet (I need to change it with Social Security, and I can't do that till I've changed my DL, which I can't do until Christmas break because they were stupid and closed at noon on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving), my old name's still floating around there on official things, so K may have seen it somewhere, but there's really no reason for that to have happened, either, so who knows. *shrug* Like I told Nancy, "I don't know what you're talking about" is pretty true, in a way. :)
Finally, my birthday (22! yay?) was not as bad as it started out. Yay for that. Thanks for the wall posts/cards/cake/good thoughts, guys. And even the renditions of "Happy Birthday". ;D Oh, and thanks for the virtual cookie,
obsessed1. Happy holidays to you as well. They can't get here soon enough for my tastes!
