Fic: TW, "a fantastical truth"
Among my ongoing pile of Teen Wolf WIPs is a trans!Stiles AU where Stiles is bitten instead. I wrote this chunk in the wrong POV, so it stands alone and I thought I'd share. 100 words; title is from The Wolfman (2010).
a fantastical truth
Stiles felt... strange.
There was a tightness, a tenseness, to his body, and he was forcibly reminded of something he'd read somewhere, once, about the Middle Ages, about how they tested suspected werewolves by skinning them and looking for fur on the inside.
The sensation felt a little like that, like an itch on the inside of his skin.
He didn't have to look under his skin, or even in the mirror, to know he'd been right.
But he looked in the mirror anyway at his wolfish features and bright yellow eyes and when he grinned, it was all teeth.
