Hey-ho folks,
So despite me being majorly sick with this recent bout of the COLD, I've managed to stay fairly on top of things.
- Good news is: while I was sick, I did get my Xbox360 back from Microsoft. They gave me a brand new machine with a new serial code and extended my warranty to another 3 years for the 3-rings-of-death problem I had. So, hopefully from here it won't happen again.
While I was out sick and in bed, I was able to play Gears of War here and there. I must say it was a good game (especially for a launch title), but the game itself is a bit short. For what its worth though, I wouldn't mind buying the sequel to it (the Gears is a trilogy). In the game you have to take cover in order to advance your squad forward in your war against these monsters coming out of the ground. Kinda typical... kinda not.
- In other news my computer broke down about 3 weeks ago (the heat sink mount popped off so my CPU heat sink came loose, thus running the CPU to 72+ deg C). I'm returning it to Newegg (because ASUS won't RMA it because the warranty didn't cover it...grrr), and hopefully I'll get credited back for the value that I paid for it. This is going to be a major turd sandwich if I don't get anything back from it, as right now I've only got limited net access with my old broken laptop and through the campus computer network. Worse case scenario: I'll have to purchase a new AMD Socket 939 motherboard on my own, which is already being phased out of the market.
- I've been getting heavily into Babylon 5 lately. I've been trying to find the DVDs of the different seasons of it. The best I could remember were from Seasons 3-4 that I was able to watch one summer. But after that I wasn't able to watch more of it. So, in my own sense of completedness, I want to finish watching the entire series as I first wanted to do many years ago. Now that DVDs are out, I can take my time in doing so. :)
- As to anime, I've been out of the loop for the past 8 months or so. I haven't really checked out any of the new series or anything of that nature mainly because I haven't the time for it anymore. But, somewhere down the road I'd like to pick it back up again and see where it goes.
- Finally, I went to check out the MSU career fairly yesterday, but only briefly. Before I go too far with it, I'd like to say that there's way too many sales positions opened than others I could see. It would seem that no one really wants to spend any more money right now in the economy thus, that would be the most logical deduction as to why a lot of the companies I spoke to are looking to boost sales and revenue. As for me, I wanted a more analytical position, as that's what my area of study entails. But, based on my experiences, marketing, future projections, and sales are what I've done before, so I've got this dichotomy I must work with. I'll just have to wait to see what responses I get after submitting my resume out there.
Now, off I go to study.....
