My first 2 days off in sequence in almost 3 weeks... wooah.
Seven Deadles equaled whirlwind like qualities, with a mixed flurry of OMG and OMFG, with occasional elations of numb joy. The long story shall be made short: I helped Portia with the Baronial Scrolls for Delftwoods just stepped down Baron and Baroness. I did a style called "Waltzing Leaves, in black with gold leaves, and some different small animals/creatures. These (as far as I know XD) are my first two scrolls displayed in court. I was both amazed, and honored for the trust given to me by my beloved friend Portia St. Luke. Seriously go check her site (www.portiastluke.com) and see her awesomeness! Her work has been in several publications, and her work on these scrolls was nothing short of her usual unique and breathtaking talent.
Auntie worked continuously on Portia's and my garb. Even with no boning, and my gallblader, Auntie worked her wonderful skills and helped me look beautiful. And Portia once again let me snag shinies for added sparkle. I was amazed at how I felt. And still feel :)
Kenhelm was kind enough to take photographs of the scrolls for Portia and I, since we had DERPed and not scanned the scrolls ahead of time. He repeatedly complimented me on my work. Edaina, Aerin, and so many other people... I still can't believe it how nice it feels to accept it's ok. I wish I had listened to sooner.
I was adopted by Thorn, a beautiful and funny lady. I'm hoping to meet up with her again soon so I can help her with her poetry and show her songs I've written. I also met Julia, who is very intriguing. I look forward to seeing her again for her thoughts on life :D
After He and His Lady had received their scrolls, The Baron came up personally and thanked me for my work. Said he was honored to have my work on his scroll.
Danny pulled his usual coupe de grace with his chess move... but I think that is something we shall save for another day ;) Have to admit he stood brave holdiMng the sword for Court.
My dad and sister came over yesterday! I gave Dad a Bills faux leather jacket that he LOVED! I also got Jenny covered for Christmas with a Celtic Knot heart necklace, and Auntie gave her some Medieval magnets. She thought they were the cutest thing ever ^_^.
Jenny is getting so tall and really misses me; it's kind of heart-ripping to not be able to see her more often. Talking on the phone is limited (I work with them 8 hours a day... txt plz kthnksbai) and although we know each other well enough to get tone from text... it's not the same as seeing her eyes light up when she laughs at an inside joke. Seeing her accept herself by not hiding her hand when she is getting something a small as a taco at the mall. She came up to my room when I was having a last smoke before going to lunch. Just like when I was living at dads, she came in and flopped on the bed. I really wanted to put Yellow Submarine on and sit with her.
Dad has also changed. He's in a lot better mood now, and he was actually in a good mood the entire day, even after walking around the mall for 4 hours lol.
We went to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch, the other birthday present to the Fogie Gokey. While the steak, broccoli, and potatoes were the yum... the lobster tail was a definite not-so-much. Would probably go for brunch next time.
Now I'm on my second day off, basking in not doing anything I don't want to do. Well I did laundry so I was mini-productive :P Have lots of scroll ideas running in my head, but I know I'm not ready for a lot of them. Some basic blanks till I can get some decent images to practice with. So many thiiiiings! *Shneu*
I can't believe how much love I feel. With a family of choice slowly mixing with the family of blood... A stronger step in my walk, a firmer grip on my brush. And my reality. I know I keep doing this, but I hope it doesn't become annoying. I mean it every time.
Thank you so much for your guidance, talent and encouragement. Auntie, Rob,Portia, Brian, Mac, Danny, everyone. Thank you for your love.
