So my little sister came to the door of my dorm today and as I went to let her in, she held up the letters on her new hoodie for me to see: M.G.S.A.
MY LITTLE SISTER GOT INTO MASON GROSS SCHOOL OF THE ARTS!!!
For those that don't know, Mason Gross is the arts school at Rutgers University, and it's one of the hardest schools to get into, not just within the university, but within the country. My little sister was one of SEVEN soprano vocalists to be accepted. ONE. OF. SEVEN.
My family was so scared at first over the audition, since we had heard a rumor that the school would be accepting those who had been accepted into other schools at Rutgers first. My sister hadn't gotten into any of the schools at Rutgers (Rutgers College, Livingston College, Douglass College), which had everyone very worried. But when my dad came home from work today with a Mason Gross hoodie for Laura, she couldn't believe it. My dad showed her the acceptance email to insure her that it was the real deal.
Mason Gross is my little sister's dream school. I'm so happy for her. When she got here and told me the news, we went all over campus, banging on people's doors to tell them the news. She's going to be wearing that hoodie for days, if not weeks, which is hilarious.
I can't get over how happy I am for her. I can't remember the last time I was this ecstatic over anything.
Oh, and by the way, I've got a lunch date for Friday.
Today was a good day.
