Lol, first I gotta say what happened tonight. There's reports that three unknown people were setting up an mortar position on a nearby mountain that would most likely fire apon here at KTMC. So we the security force for the compound were warned about that, however we were told that there were three units of troops (one British patrol and two American patrols) heading to that position to check it out. So, we didn't do anything special, but once the ETTs (Embedded Tactical Trainers) heard about that, they began to freak. I heard one officer (I don't know the rank cause he was in PTs) yelling at another officer to warn everyone else to get their 'battle-rattle' ready and head to the bunkers once the mortars begin to fall on us. Lol, like that'll happen. So I'm with a bunch of my fellow soldiers eating dinner chow with the chow room fell silent, a Major showed up in the chow hall... in PTs (Physical Training clothes), wearing his helmet and his body armor. Not only he looked stupid wearing that in PTs, he was an ugly looking sore thumb in the chow hall. Even the other fellow soldiers from the French, British, and Mongolian forces stopped talking and knew he was doing something extreme. He just picked up a few napkins from a table and walked out and we resumed normal eating session. Being a Major, you would THINK he would have better smarts than doing something like that... plz refer to this pic...
http://www.vgfuture.com/fileshack/userfiles/MajorKiith/Lt%20Col%20and%20grunts.jpg The Four Star General Myers payed us a visit yesterday, and it was raining! And he didn't walk around visiting everyone like I feared, and his speech for the troops were short and sweet, if I can fetch the video about the speech if I can.
After that night, in the next morning we were sent out to do a mounted patrol around a village and a rock quarry. And I tell you what, the weather was perfect, wet=no dust (which I'm turret gunner) sun peeking thru the clouds, the temp was warm (around 60) and the people that we stopped and chatted to were very nice and had given us hot tea, which was excellent! And the hills and mountains had tiny little green grass growing everywhere, which reminded me of home alot!
And not the not so cool news... on my PT test yesterday morning, I have failed the run. I passed the push-ups (42) and the sit-up (50 both in two minutes) trying to save up my energy for the run cause I could have done more than that. So on the run we ran out side in the drizzling rain, which is awesome weather to do it in. And I decided to run with my old teamleader and we ran around the base camp (within the road that circles the camp but it's inside the walls and guard towers) being the four leaders of our platoon. I was doing great! Controlled breathing patterns, avoiding potholes and pausing my breathing we come up to a generator's 'field of death'. The generators are huge diesel engines that run 24/7 to generate power for the base and their exsaude creates an area of 'death' form the cardon dioxide and monoxide and it destroyed any runners' lungs if they get a whiff of that bad air. But after the first lap (mile) around the camp, I heard the grader announced that we made a mile in 6 minutes. I'm like wow! Holy cow, that is awesome! Just one more lap and I will have one more thing to not worry about for the rest of the tour... too bad my brain can't think that fast, the moment that I had took my mind off of the running, I went into a generator's death field and took a full breath of the toxic air and I went into convolutions. I couldn't control myself from coughing, hacking and very shortly afterwards, vomitting up the breakfast three hours ago. (Those Army eggs tastes real bad coming back up) I stopped and leaned against a con-ex box vomiting and coughing for 5 minutes before my platoon daddy ran up to me with a bottle of water and he walked me around for a few minutes before he sent me bad to the b-hut. I've failed the run, but he kept telling me that I did good and I have nothing to worry about and I need to worry about me. And to this day, I dunno what became of that event, but I spend the bad with a bad headache, a heart that kept pounding and a minor stomach pain. That totally sucked. Being over a mile high from sea level is bad enough for running, bad with those generator death traps... oh well
I'm online, chatting with my friends and enjoying a cup of Rice Krispies, at least I'm happy, Oh, and a word one to my dad, I had played against two Brutal computer after my mounted patrol on C&C Generals: Zero Hours and I stomped them to the ground! How's that for not playing the game for over a year!
