I somehow missed the Magid series, (is it a series? I hope.) I have read and loved, recently, the wizard ones, and the cat ones. I will have to find these others.

Nevertheless, your story made sense. I love the way that magic is jumbled in with food and showers, and sex, as just another aspect of life. Seemed so real. Very warm little story. Thanks.

Here's what makes this fic so great:

The very solid sense of work in everything Maree does.

The adorable snuggling, right there at the beginning.

Family. I'm such a sucker for family, and you did it very well here, warm and smart and composed almost entirely of adults. I mean, I like kids but sometimes it's nice to see a portrayal of family that doesn't focus on them, you know?

Anyway, I liked this very much. Also, I poked around your journal and you seem to have interesting things to say on a variety of subjects, so I'm adding you as a friend.

This is excellent, "Deep Magic" being one of my favorite 'adult' books by Diane Wynne Jones. It's been a while since I read it last, but it seems to me you managed all of the voices perfectly.... and LOL at Rupert's case of mistaken identity!
