Character Biography:
History: Chuck grew up in a bright, colorful home in Coeur d'Coeurs, living next-door to Ned. The two were good friends and played together frequently; this led to their becoming childhood sweethearts. When Chuck was eight, her father unexpectedly and inexplicably died. Unbeknownst to Chuck, his death was inadvertently caused by Ned using his newly discovered ability to bring his own mother back from the dead. During the funerals of their parents, Ned and Chuck shared their first and only kiss - separated soon afterward when Ned's father sent him off to boarding school. Chuck was sent to be raised by her aunts, Lily and Vivian, two former synchronized swimmers whose social phobias prevented them from leaving the house. Chuck always dreamed of a different life, but feared that her aunts would be unable to cope without her, and therefore stayed at home until she was 28 years old.

At 28, she visited Boutique Travel Travel Boutique to make plans, and was offered a free vacation by its owner in exchange for picking up two plaster monkeys which were thought to be simply sentimental in nature. However, the monkeys were actually gold and extremely valuable, and on board the cruise ship, Chuck was attacked from behind and suffocated to death by the Shiny Shoes Killer, who was after the monkeys. Her body was found after having been dumped overboard, and the press deemed her "the lonely tourist Charlotte Charles". Her death essentially reunited her with Ned, who, after realizing that the woman who had died was his childhood sweetheart, brought her back to life. Because he still had feelings for her, he realized he couldn't "kill" her again - leading to their inability to touch each other.

Chuck continued to work with Ned and Emerson in solving murders while secretly sending pies to her aunts' home, dosed with antidepressants. Additionally, she discovered that Ned was indirectly responsible for her father's death, leading to some tension between them for a while, although they eventually reconciled. Most recently, she found out that her Aunt Lily is actually her mother.
Personality in seven words or less: Kind-hearted, intelligent, observant, cunning, love of learning.
How Others Perceive Your Character: She's the love of Ned's life and a pain in Emerson's behind. She and Olive Snook have gotten to be excellent friends and even lived together for a period of time. Her aunt and her mother are still very much a part of her life, but they have to perceive her to be dead - for their own health, at least. Most of the time, she uses aliases when dealing with murder investigations.
Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: Chuck has a fairly optimistic perspective on life, compared to Ned's pessimism. She frequently suggested offering a hug or a kiss to Ned - "if it wouldn't kill me" - when they first reunited, and most of the time, she is the one to offer a more cheerful option when Ned seems to be looking at the world with a doom-and-gloom perspective.
Reason(s) for Escaping to Canada: She's always been interested in travel, and hopefully this time it won't wind up with her being murdered.
Their DHAs [Dreams, Hopes, and Aspirations] for Canada: She doesn't have a lot of job experience, but would be willing to investigate murders - or even just bake the simple pie every now and then.
