There's a 90% chance I'll be in the following shows:

*Boca Festival Days 24th Annual Open Juried Art Exhibit (July 27th to September 11th)
*Alagarto: UF printmaking show (September 28 - October 23)

I'll keep you informed.

***Does anyone own a legitimate copy of dreamweaver that I can install on my mac? I'll be willing to trade the Adobe Creative suite ( Read more... )

Why does it have to be legit? And what do you need DreamWeaver for? I have it somewhere, but only for a PC. You can get the legit student version (which is the full version, really). I had to hack my Adobe suite; I didn't have thousands of dollars to spring for Photoshop or Dreamweaver or Flash.

Well, I was thinking about doing 2 things with Dreamweaver.

1. build my own site to showcase some of my prints and graphic design work.
2. I want to have the option to build sites for companies and I know Adobe will find out if you are using the programs illegally for profit. I just don't want to chance it at all. And last time I downloaded Illustrator, it totally messed up my computer. It might be worth the $99 or $199 for the legal student version. =)

Students can purchase dreamweaver, flash, bridge, photoshop, indesign, acrobat, and illustrator for $399. I didn't have that much last year, so I bought the photoshop, indesign, acrobat, bridge, and illustrator package for like $249.

Yea I made a Web site but it wasn't for profit. I"M SO ADDICTED TO PHOTOSHOP. lol. It's a lot of work to make a Web site so prepare to sit in a swivelly desk chair for hours upon hours at a time. And make SURE you learn CSS first to avoid unnecessary coding. Good luck to ya!

Thanks, ya definitely! but there is a way to create a website without knowing CSS in dreamweaver. at least i hope the new addition is like the old one. =)

If you love photoshop, you should try Illustrator. It's awesome. ;D

Yeah. You create a style sheet and save it. For every new page you just apply a template. I operated an entire newspaper on my own for three months with no CSS and I wanted to kill myself. lol. What does Illustrator even do? HaHa. Yea, I promise I'm in college. I'm just a little dumb sometimes. I thought it was movie manipulation software?

Illustrator is a Vector based program. What that means is you can create an image that will never be pixelated. You can zoom and zoom and zoom and the edges will always be crisp. It's how logos and images are developed for the print world. You can print that image either on a 8.5 by 11 sheet of paper or on an entire BILLBOARD. it's pretty cool stuff. It's slightly different than photoshop. trust me...you'd LOVE it. Download the trial version. You won't be disappointed.

You can even draw stuff on paper, scan it into your computer, and LiveTrace it in Illustrator to Vectorize it. sweet stuff.
