you keep playing me like a fruit machine, overstretch your generosity

I've rediscovered the catchy beat of The Ting TIngs. Although her voice admittedly leaves some things to be desired, the beat never fails to make me want to get up and dance. And not dance dirrrrty like most rap/R&B songs, but dance like a crazy woman. Which I probably am, but no matter.
Today was the Temple City Voice 3-year anniversary..luncheon/hangout. It was pretty fun. I ended up doing as I predicted, and talking to Jason Yon-Wai Wu the whole time. I distinguish because the other Jason (Alvin) Wu was on my other side, a little awkwardly inserting himself into conversation. :x It turns out he wants to be a journalist and go to USC Annenberg, but then later on when I was giving him a ride home, he expressed the (slightly saddening and damning) urge to go into computer sciences for a stable but hated job. After being hated on by Alvin (I'm just going to call him Alvin; he looks and talks like an Alvin, and apparently his name was Alvin Jason Wu before he changed it -_-) and Randy for getting pasta, I laughed as Randy was disgusted by his Greek pizza. My own..Tomato Basil Spaghettini? (whatever. it tasted like Angel Hair Pasta to me) was pretty good. I've had better-maybe Louise's or Cheesecake Factory come to mind-but still. Amazing pasta is hard to come by. I was satisfied enough. Then again, the experience may have been tempered by the overpowering scent of Chicken-and-Whatever coming from Jason's pasta next to me. I can't even imagine how strong that would've been for him to eat it, if I could smell and pretty much taste the sweet, cloying smell in mouth from the air. Anyway, after we concluded our lunch, we headed to Nubi. I've never eaten at that particular chain of froyo before, and was pleasantly surprised. Self-serve and unlimited topping always make me feel less ripped off. I got Vanilla (which was amazingly good), Pistachio (which was pretty good), and Original (which wasn't) stacked one on top of another so I'd know, for future reference, which one to get next time. I actually am not a fan of Original..unless it is being served at Yogurtland. Mmmmm, Yogurtland.
After that, I basically went home and did nothing, then took a nap and read more Fanfiction. I now have a new constant texting partner other than Edward. Cannus :D is making very good use out of her new, self-proclaimed masculine Blackberry :P, if I say so myself. Props! I've also gotten Brandon to respond to some of my texts. Success.
For our Theatre dialogue, Merrill and I have decided to do a scene from The Importance of Being Earnest. All of you who've read it in Hoague should know what I'm talking about-the one in which Algernon speaks to Cecily and asks to court her, and she tells him that they've been enagaged for three months already. I'm slightly put off by how much Cecily talks, as opposed to Algernon, but it's still a nice comedic piece.
Tomorrow morning, I'm picking up my blood test results and getting my second installment of the HPV shot from my doctor. Fun, right? Then I'm having him prescribe my yearly urine test, because I forgot to ask for it last time. Monday is my MRI :x. According to my mom, the body is placed in a dark tube. She says it is so scary that she shuts her eyes. I think I inherited my slight claustrophobia from her.
As I was telling Jason today, I miss my hair. :( That is, my long, above-elbow hair. The one I had before I cut it into the asymmetrical bob. I mean, short hair is nice and all, but there's just nothing to do with it. Not that I ever did anything with my long hair to begin with, not even put it up into a ponytail, but when I look at old pictures, I guess my hair wasn't as ugly as I thought it was when it was long. At least the floopiness it gets from my sleeping on it when it's wet was converted to waviness, as opposed to the frizziness I get these days. Urgh, another case of feminine insecurity much? ._.

for our band, it's leading you astray; the little we had, you've thrown it all away.
