I have a few errands tomorrow that are not public-transit-accessible. I was talking to my dad on the phone while trying to reserve a Zipcar, so I halfheartedly complained that the closest car to my apartment is a Mini Cooper, which are more expensive per hour than the rest of the cars. And he said "I've always wanted to test drive a Mini! Reserve that one; I'll pay the difference if you report back to me!"
So now my dad is going to pay me $8 to drive a Mini Cooper tomorrow.
This makes me laugh.
Footnotes:
1. My complaining was in jest and so, so unjustified. The Mini is parked probably 200 yards from my building, and the cheaper options are two blocks beyond that.
2. I will not actually hold Dad to that $8.
