You guys, I just had such a fright. I was at Park Street, minding my business, waiting for the T, when a guy fell onto the tracks. The train was far down the tunnel, but the lights were visible... There was an MBTA employee emptying trash cans, and he immediately ripped off his fluorescent orange vest and started waving it at the train, which stopped just at the beginning of the platform. And then a guy on the platform jumped down onto the track to lift the other guy out, and climbed back up himself. By this time, a T police officer had arrived, and everyone pointed at where the possibly drunk, or possibly handicapped, guy had already sort of shuffled back up the stairs.
The whole thing happened so quickly, but the rest of the way home, my knees were shaking and I thought I was going to throw up. I admire those people who acted so quickly while I was frozen in terror. I guess you don't want me with you if there's an emergency.
Other than that, though, things are good this weekend. Moria, Jacklyn, and Steph came to visit and we had fun in Harvard Square yesterday and then had a game night at Carol & Jeff's, and then today when the big Park Street Incident went down, I was on my way back from a yummy lunch in Chinatown (then JP Licks) with Danielle. Now I'm curled up on my bed, watching the beginning of the Steelers game - I love when they're actually on TV here in Boston! - trying to calm my nerves. I'm still a little shaky. What a wimp.
And we just scored, WOOOOOOOOO!
