I seriously need to figure out my eating habits. I have way too many days like today, where I don't eat anything but peanut M&Ms at my desk, until 5pm when I'm STARVING and I inhale some cheese and crackers and a popsicle because it's too late to go out and get a real lunch.
Things are crazy right now, with our BIGGEST. SR. SHOW. EVER. on Saturday. We are all tense. I have cried like four times in the past week over the stupidest things (luckily only at home; I haven't had any office breakdowns), and I know it's just because I'm so stressed.
Starting Monday, life will be mostly back to normal, I hope. And then my mom comes to visit the next weekend. I can't wait!
Speaking of my mom and those peanut M&Ms, they came in a funny package she sent me. She had my SR hoodie that I left the last time I visited, and a couple other things, and then this note:
Hi,
This is an odd assortment! I had this stuff in the laundry room. We still have wax paper in the burgh, so you can microwave in peace.
We are leaving Friday, so there is very little yummy stuff around - the M&Ms were the best I could do.
Your Dad just got back from Chicago. We now own a blue (old) BMW. A 36 year old former Canadian skateboard champion bought the silver car.
Well, that's all the excitement - see you soon. Hooray!
Love,
Mom
I want to know more about this Canadian skateboard champion! How did he even find my dad's old car, to buy it? Does he live in Pittsburgh now? And as for the wax paper, did I mention this here? There has been no wax paper at both the grocery store and the CVS by my house, for at least a couple weeks. At first I thought they just happened to run out at the same time, but now I'm suspecting they don't carry it anymore, which is so odd. Has anyone else noticed this? Am I an idiot? Anyway, I mentioned it in passing to my mom, just that I thought it was odd, and that's why she sent me a roll. It made me laugh.
If you are in one of the cities that they haven't hit yet, I highly recommend checking out the
Ten out of Tenn tour. They were here last night, but I didn't recommend it to anyone before that because I only knew Griffin (of course) and Butterfly, and I had no idea if the others were going to be any good. But they WERE. It was SO MUCH FUN. Each artist played one or two of their own songs, and they all rotated and played and sang backup for each other. Anywhere from one to ten people on stage at any given time, and it was just wonderful. I wish I had seen the first show on the tour, so I could have told everyone to go see it. Oh well. (Also, I have to say how funny it is that
Tyler James looks about 15 - which he joked about last night, and probably every night - but his voice sounds more like his real 26 years. It's so incongruous when you watch him sing live. Or at least it was to me.)
