Brrrrrr.

I know I shouldn't be surprised by ANY weather anymore, but just now was a doozy (there's another word I don't hear enough). I wanted to get a pumpkin muffin (I know, I know). When I stepped outside, it was a bit gloomy, but not raining or snowing. Within a block, it had started hailing so hard and fast and sideways that I could hardly walk. They were those tiny little hail stones that stung my eyes and face. By the time I got to Dunkin Donuts - for those of you who don't know my local geography, just about a block and a parking lot away - my hair and jeans were soaked through. Luckily, my wool coat is tougher and was only soaked on the outside.

But then it gets weirder. After only maybe five minutes inside Dunkies, while everyone in line commented about "WHAT IS GOING ON OUT THERE?!" the terrible mini-hail had turned into huge, fluffy, gentle snowflakes.

And now that I'm back inside and have been for about ten minutes, it's sunny out my window and no snow or hail in sight. Except on the ground.

So I've changed into dry pants and I'm going to settle in for some reading and podcasts before it's time to head back out and meet modpixie at the Brattle for Adam's Rib and His Girl Friday. Chelsea, are we still on? I'm going to go anyway, but I think you're coming from farther away. So I understand if the weather gets bad again and you don't want to make the trek. I may be wimpy and take the T just one stop instead of walking, but I'm not going to skip my beloved classics! :)
