Walking home just now, an old version of "Here We Go" (don't know which year it is, but it's from the Kordell era) came up on my iPod. At the lines "Cowher Power will get the job done; this is the year we get that one for the thumb" - one of the parts that hadn't changed from year to year - it hit me. The Steelers may be sucking it up this year, but we got the one for the thumb. So, Pittsburghers, have you heard this year's version? I assume they did one. What are the new lyrics there?!
Last night I watched
Walk, Don't Run, one of the lesser-known Cary Grant movies. I mean, I assume it's one of the lesser-knowns; I had never seen it, and you know I'm a connoisseur. I LOVED it. It was especially nice to see the older Cary Grant still playing the comical-but-suave role he does so well, but not as the leading man/love interest. And I enjoyed Jim Hutton, who did play the love interest... I'll have to find some more of his stuff. Anyway, highly recommended. It may be hard to find at your local video store, but it's there on Netflix.
Now I'm going to watch
Life With Father, starring a young Elizabeth Taylor and my favorite classic comedienne, Irene Dunne, known mostly to me as Lucy Warriner from
The Awful Truth, one of the funniest movies ever (at least I think so) that also stars...wait for it...Cary Grant.
See how it all comes full circle with these old movies?
