Fifty Seven - Danishes, Cakes, and Pies, Oh my!

Mar 05, 2010 20:07

I'm going to end up smelling nothing but shortening and cocoa for the next few weeks but it's not really that bad. I have to say I prefer working in the back though.

How has everyone else's jobs been?

pancake tiems is now?

Oh, you're making food for your job?

Mine's been amazing! Working with animals day in and out is fair tiring, but worth it.

Pastries to be exact. It's really nice to get experience with. I never knew how to correctly make a croissant nevermind one that could actually change colors.

I would imagine so. What kinds of animals are you taking care of?

Oh! That sounds hard; I know I don't know how to make a croissant at all. D'you want to be a pastry chef?

Well there are normal Muggle animals, like giraffes and elephants, but there're also Crups, and pixies, and other magical creatures. No creatures with human traits, which is a good thing. I never knew that pixies were such picky eaters.

Croissant's are fairly tricky, but I actually want to be an Auror. I figured I needn't shadow one though. Once I graduate and go to test for the Auror Academy there I'll get plenty of experience there. And this seemed better than most other jobs.

They keep giraffes and pixies in the same place? I didn't know that. And how picky are they?

I suppose that's true. I'm glad I'm not going to be an Auror, myself. I don't think I'd be good at it, and I'd much rather work with animals or magical creatures.

No, they're in separate parts of the zoo, but everyone takes care of the same creatures. And they're fair picky- if you don't feed their food to them the right way, they'll refuse it.

To each their own.

Interesting. What's considered the right way?

I suppose. You'd make a great Auror, though.

Well, you have to leave it sneaky, so they don't notice you're helping to feed them. It's harder than it looks.

What makes you say that?

Do you have to put on an invisibility cloak? Charm the food over to them?

You just seem like the type. You know, that's willing to do whatever it takes for someone.

You have to wait until they're distracted by something else- like another keeper- and then charm it over.
