The books I want, in no particular order. Suggest more!
Crush by Richard Siken - Glorious poetry. Look up either "Scheherezade," or "A primer for the small weird loves," which you will feel in your stomach.
Something by Salman Rushdie: I'm thinking East, West which is his collection of short stories. We read one of these in class.
The Kite Runner. Supposedly this book is brilliant. I am unclear as to what this is actually about, but I know it has something to do with a boy from Afghanistan? I have heard nothing but good things about it, and it's being made into a movie, so I figure it should be on my list.
The Life of Pi. This has been on the list for ages. The synopsis on the back is just so brilliant that I have to have it.
Seamus Heaney's "Beowulf." Why don't I have this yet? It doesn't make any sense to me!
On Chesil Beach, to continue my foray into Ian McEwan love. This one is about a young newlywed couple on their wedding night, and was on at least one list as one of the top ten books of 2007.
Thank you, Erin!
