I feel vaguely grown-up today.
I got my full, non-probationary driver's licence in the mail. It's about three years since I got my P plates - I got them before I went to England.
Mostly I'm just glad I don't have to deal with P plates any more. My ones can't stay on by themselves any more (since I don't have my own car I've been having to take them on and off a lot) so I've been liberally applying the sticky tape. There's a roll of sticky tape and some scissors permanently installed in one of the cars.
So, whoo. We'll get the sticky tape back!
J will be leaving England today. I'll see him Thursday morning.
I'm graduating on Saturday. I have a choice of two dresses, and a pair of shoes for each dress. (I don't really know how it happened, either. I went shopping on my own and got a dress, then I went shopping the next day with my mum to get her something to wear to the graduation... and ended up with another dress and two pairs of shoes...)
Ahem.
It's going to be a busy few days. We're also having relatives visiting for the next 10 days-ish. It's going to be a very packed house. My sister will be back for the weekend, J will be here, my mum, my dad, me, and the family of four.
Good times. I think J and I will go travelling fairly quickly. (If anyone wants to see me before then, I might turn up in the city either Thursday or Friday, since I have a library book to return.)
I'm trying to be interesting, but it's kind of hard when I spent 8 hours today sitting on my butt staring at a computer. My night-time relaxing in front of the laptop is no longer an escape. It's also disappointing when my boss is so busy he doesn't actually have time to show me stuff so I'm left doing administration (today I got to print out reports and fold them into little envelopes and then walk downstairs to the warehouse/shed and then post those internal envelopes into the in-trays of the contractors). At least I got a walk.
I liked having a job that kept me active! I don't want to become unfit! (And yet, I am too lazy to go out and do proper exercise.)
I think I may just find a way to stay in hospitality (or retail), forever.
