Some of us are getting mighty lucky

I had an excellent day today.

The weather's beautiful - it's cooled down a lot recently, we had some rain a couple of days ago but now it's sunny once more. Luckily it's still fairly cool, which is a nice change. I get to wear jackets and long sleeves again!

I headed down to Fitzroy on my own to wander about and enjoy the weather. Had lunch at my favourite cafe (Beans and Bagels), which was very very filling and I felt bad about leaving food untouched. It's a thing of mine - when I'm cleaning up at work I always feel a little hurt when there's food or drinks unfinished (especially if I know I made/prepared it). So I tend to imagine others feeling the same, even though I know it's silly to take it personally.

I enjoyed it because some of the shops were closed for the Easter weekend, and I went a little early anyway so it was less crowded. Just how I like it.

I made a point of sketching a map of the area to prevent any major cases of getting lost, but I still managed to anyway. It's not because I draw bad maps, or can't read them, but I just have so little confidence in my abilities that I end up walking back the way I came just in case I had made a mistake (which I hadn't). Oh well. I love this city so much. I could walk around it all day, so it was no big deal.

I found this little bit of graffiti while I was backtracking unnecessarily. It made the day awesome.

Taken on my camera phone (his name is Cam now, short for Cameron), which is good enough I guess for moments like these. Pepito's actually gone to Sri Lanka with my parents, to see if he can be fixed cheaply there. If not, my dad's promised to buy me a new camera if I let him know what specifications I'm after. Poor Pepito, I kind of hope he can be fixed. I was just getting handy with him.

Bought some cheap black shirts for work, which I'm happy about. Means less washing during the week if I have more shirts! Now I just need to find some trousers that aren't "handwash only", because that's going to drive me insane pretty quickly.

While I'm uploading photos from my phone, have this one too:

Just a little sketch I scribbled at uni one day. Copying someone else's style, you can tell.

Am a little sad I didn't get to spend today with anyone. Oh well. Tomorrow I have a shift at work, and I have no idea whether it'll be crazy busy or super quiet. It's kind of away from the main areas of the city, but it's still not that hard to find. On Monday I'm going to see The History Boys with my sister, because we're all cultured-like. (It'll also be interesting to see the differences between the theatre production and the movie, when it comes out.) It sounds very Dead Poets' Society, doesn't it? I'm just tagging along to keep my sister company (and give her use of my credit card, of course...)

Then... Wednesday, I believe we're planning for D&D. I also have a group meeting for uni stuff. Thursday is work, as is Saturday morning. Then Saturday evening is movie-watching at Hummingbird's place. (Can you believe it? I have social outings planned out in my diary. It's surreal.) My sister is plotting her dinner party for sometime soon, too. Which clearly requires me to be kicked out of the house for that night.

And... that's about it, for now.
