Every once in a while, someone would arrange to have a casual meeting. Phone calls would be made, an agreement would be reached on where and when, confirmations would be given and everyone would make time in their schedule and other necessary arrangements in order to attend.

When the selected date arrived, they all faithfully showed up. Some came alone; others came in pairs. Obviously, Mustang always showed up with Hawkeye, who never failed to bring Black Hayate. He was, after all, an unofficial member of the team, and everyone didn't mind having the cute mutt around - except maybe Breda. Major Armstrong and his troupe, having also been invited, would show up as well (a secret betting pool was set up each time based on how long it would take for his shirt to magically vanish). Once the greetings had been dispensed with, everyone would sit down and the real event would begin: the alcohol.

It was also at this point that chaos descended upon the unfortunate establishment that had been picked. Being two of the only three females present, Ross and Hawkeye were unofficially selected as the "responsible ones" and monitored their intake. (Sheska, sadly, was discovered early on as an utter lightweight, and thus never assumed that responsibility.) The men, however, would live it up. They would give each other updates, trade stories, spin tall tales and generally let loose. And they would do it all with increasing volume as the night progressed and more alcohol was consumed.

If not for the fact that they were influential members of the military and the owners of said establishments knew them well enough, the women were sure they would have been banned city-wide.

Eventually, they would either tire out, cave or fall asleep outright. That was the signal for Ross and Hawkeye to call for taxis where needed and make sure that their comrades made it safely back to their homes. The last few to be sent off were of course Mustang (since Hawkeye was driving him home) and Brosh (since Ross lived nearby and thus would take the taxi back with him).

"Crazy night as usual," Ross commented as she helped Hawkeye bundle her superior into the car.

"Always is," was Hawkeye's response. Even so, both women smiled at each other. Despite how much trouble these get-togethers always turned out to be, it was something they all needed.

After all, they were practically family.
