This year I've decided to post my top choices of drinks that guarenteed to warm you up for the holidays. I'm also going to put down how to mix them so that can make these.
Wines:
- now if you like white wine you cant go wrong with a pinot grigio(which is weird for me to recommend because i normally like australian wines and this is italian) this wine is very easy to drink. its a sublte taste and very fruity. they taste a bit of pear or apple in there too
- Now im going to recommend 2 red wines. the first is a Red Bordeaux (a french one) and is a great one to bring home for christmas dinner. its actually a blend of 3 different grapes (merlot, cabernet and sauvignon sp?) so it tends to be pretty fruity and not too complex
-the next is an Australian Shiraz.. i say this one because it goes supprisingly well with pizza. this is a very lush wine but the flavour varies slightly differs by the grapes used.
Champagne: the best way to is freixenet.. 18 bucks with a high rating too.
it the black bottled one you wanna grab
Shooters:
this is actually my third choice of shooters for the holidays i know...
My first choice is a flame thower.. great to keep you warm.. but fire=bad when drinking lol
my second choice is just such a horrible name ... i cant even say it
so ill go with my third choice for the holiday season
What The!!!- Equal parts of Butterscotch Schnapps, Parfait Amore, Baileys.
Now as for the cocktails:
i think i need to recommend an eggnog martini, blitzen style, lol
3/4 oz. captain morgan or just golden rum, 1/2 oz brandy and a 4 oz of eggnog.
now if you have a shaker.. pour those in with a bit of ice.. shake and strain out. if not... then just stir it and the ice is optional.
this is a fun one.. its called a mambo christmas
in a shaker or glass put ice, 1 oz mango juice, 1 oz passion fruit and 1/4 a teaspoon of grenadine. fill a champagne glass half full with prosecco. the poor the juice into the champagne glass. now youll probably want to strain the juice and leave the ice in the first cup/shaker.
this is one you and a friend will want to split on buts its really nice.
this one I believe is called the saint.. ice, 3/4 oz of brandy, 3/4 of cherry brandyand the juice of 1/2 lemon. garnish it with a maraschino cherry if you have em
Ill finish with a great one. its called the polar bear. add 1 1/2oz of grand marnier to a coffee mug (glass one if you have it) top with hot chocolate and whipped cream.. its garnish is a candied orange slice but it doesnt matter. they make good desserts as well
P.S. Im NOT an alcoholic.. bartender lol
