The Tiger

[lone_thrift]

There is a tiger
in the lagoon
with a hollow reed
to breathe.
The tiger sees her
from under the surface
with it's
tiger eyes.

It makes her
uncomfortable
to see a tiger there
submerged in the water
quietly
staring at her.
"What is it
doing down there?
Why is it breathing
like that?"

She wants to leave,
but outside her door
there it is
just below the surface-
a tiger
watching her.

She feels
for this tiger.
Has it retreated?
Does it need help?
Is it waiting?
Is she safe?

Why does this
happen to her?
Perhaps, she should
call someone,
someone who
knows this tiger,
someone to help.

When she awakes
from the dream,
this vivid dream,
a tiger
is still there
under the surface
in it's true form
breathing
through a hollow reed.

She will
make a phone call
to someone
as in the dream.

The man will arrive
seeing the tiger
and stepping
down
into the waters
sacrificing himself
just for her
and
for the tiger.
