2012 fic year in review
Um, yes, I seem to have been pretty exclusive in my writing this year. Oh well. Writing is writing!

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Nineteen fics? Definitely more! And those are just the ones that got posted.
Also, I have (almost) managed to write a minimum of one missing scene/post-ep per episode of Haven as they aired, which I've never done before. It started out as just being inspired every week and so was coincidental, but by about the fourth episode it became a goal. (I do have a finale post-ep that's mostly written -- there's a scene or two I don't like that needs to be adjusted -- so that just leaves Reunion, which I'm having a hard time separating from Thanks for the Memories because I watched them back to back. But it'll come. Oh yes, it will come.)
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2012?
There are a couple of fics that included the Audrey/Duke UST/unrequited love Haven's been pushing this season, which is unusual for me, but the biggest surprise is that I wrote two fics from the POV of an /other. Usually I loathe the /other that complicates my OTP and they only appear in fics if I'm writing them out, so that Jordan got two of her own stories? This counts as personal growth. *g*
What's your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
Hmm. I do really like Reach Out and Touch Someone because it's fluffy and nearly angst-free and is just meant as a feel-good fic. I also like Star Light, Star Bright even though it's ridiculously angsty. Can't quite pinpoint why, though. Because I did a decent job with the emotion of it, maybe?
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
Well, there was the Jordan factor, and the Duke factor. And I nudged back into the smut world with my first R-rated fic in years (ack, the stress that came with writing that one!). I guess I learned that I can write outside my OTP?
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for 2013?
Not so much -- just to keep writing as long as I enjoy it. It would be nice to be inspired by another fandom and stretch outside Haven fics, but that's up to the muse. Writing a longer fic, maybe 10K words, would also be really cool but I'm not very good at coming up with plots complicated enough to require so many words. *g*
