Okay, I called the "just ask her about something that Peter doesn't know about" waaaay before they accidentally stumbled on that idea. My idea was "ask Olivia how she met Nina Sharp."
I was going to ask "who's Henry" (my brain skipped all of the Fringeverse and went to Eureka, which has its own multiverse problems. And its own Henry. And then to Once Upon a Time, which also has multiverse problems and a Henry) but then there were comments. Hmmmm, I'm sensing a theme.
never mind, Walter's taking care of that little theory I love Walter's theory-testing methods. They are direct. Also, he knows what Red Dye #2 tastes like.
(Sputters.) So was that the same Nina that was just in the vault with Walter and Lincoln? Or one of the other Ninas?
I am sticking with my universes re-combining theory until I am proven wrong.

Yes, but that thought was immediately followed by, "But how do they verify it?" Even Olivia's assertion about the chemical could be from amber!verse, or, heck, how do we know it's not another Olivia's memory?!
Heh, many names across many fandoms does sometimes lead to confusion.
I wondered if Red Dye #2 is the kind they use(d?) in Smarties. (Possible past tense because I seem to have a memory of reading that they use natural dyes now? And that's why there are no more blue Smarties?) IIRC the original red dye caused reactions in some kids.
Re: Olivia and Nina tied up, I think they're from green!verse. (Theory only.) I suspect that Olivia was somehow connected to the Olivia we've been following this season. But that doesn't explain why amber!Olivia disappeared, so. Yes.
...it's probably better to just stop thinking about it and wait to see what happens.
Red Dye #2 (a/k/a amaranth) has been banned in the US since 1976. It is a suspected carcinogen. It is still legal in the UK, used to color Glacé cherries. Made from coal tar. (Yum!)
Nestlé announced in 2006 that they were removing all artificial coloring from Smarties in the UK. It led to blue temporarily being replaced by white until they found a adequate natural blue dye in 2008 (and not because the blue Smarties caused hyperactivity in children.)
No mention of Canada, nach.
Since I don't know if coal tar (yes, I am still making a face) counts as natural or artificial ... could go either way.
Random Topic Change: Do we know where Walter grew up? Since you obviously remember past episodes 2714 times better than I do.
Trust Walter to know the taste of a carcinogenic dye.
AFAIK we still don't have blue Smarties in Canada, because I mentioned them a year or two ago and the kids had no idea what I was talking about. But I don't much care for Smarties so I don't eat them often (just when they come in the Hallowe'en multi-pack and there happens to be some left over, which usually there aren't because I try to give them away first).
But good to know that I ate Smarties coloured with coal tar as a child. :p~
I don't recall that they've ever mentioned where Walter grew up. But in a S1 ep, with the Observers and that cone-ish-shaped thing that burrowed into the ground, Peter went to a cemetery with his grandfather's headstone in it, and Original Peter is also buried somewhere relatively close to Boston, plus I think St. Claire's is either in or around Boston, so I'd wager he spent a good amount of his life there. (Logic! Sometimes I can work with it.)
