live reaction time! Fringe 4x09

Jan 20, 2012 22:01

Before we start, I have to plug tonight's Chuck. Because first, it guested Ben Browder. But hands-down, the best part is playing O Canada with Lester armed to the freakin' teeth. I laughed. Oh yes, did I laugh. (Vik Sahay is Canadian, which I just learned a few months ago. Tonight's ep suggests that Lester is as well. Because: "I need you, Alex needs you, and your country needs you." / "...Canada?" HEE!)

But that's not why we're here. And so, let us proceed to tonight's Fringe:

* previously, we learned that Olivia has to die. Except we don't know if it's that particular Olivia (amber!verse), or an Olivia, or all of the Olivias. Which is annoying. Also, someone shot poor September. I am banking on future!Olivia, future!Peter, or... um, this is embarrassing, but I forget my other prediction. *facepalm*

* that music always makes me think of The X-Files

* ah, but which Fringe Division/New York? (...never mind)

*... if he's watching the surveillance feed, wouldn't he know which floor they're on? Wouldn't he have had to call it up from the server?

* also: DON'T YOU DARE HURT LINCOLN.

* shouldn't they develop a blood test or something? Y'know, like they did with that whole shapeshifter arc on DS9?

* I think there are a lot of offended bookkeepers in accounting firms right now ;)

* that is both gross and cool

* David Robert Jones is creepier than I remember

* okay, so... if the red!verse also has amber credits, this suggests to me that amber!verse is a "re-write" of both the green and red 'verses once Peter was erased from the timeline. If amber!verse were a third timeline, and we're apparently focussed on red this week, wouldn't they have the red credits? But then again, why are the two timelines sharing a colour? They are not the same universe, so why not colour-code them separately?

(* It is possible that I am putting too much faith in colour, but if TPTB are going to the trouble of having separate colours in the first place....)

* or, okay, not just the red!verse. Whatever. I give up until they just tell me what to think.

* yes, Astrid, I agree

* Troubled people are on a different show. Though I am not opposed to crossovers.

* Peter, I ::heart:: you, but you are just a little bit selfish here

* okay, you've already kind of redeemed yourself (yeah, I'm easy)

* wait a sec, DRJ died in Peter's timeline/universe. He got chopped in two by the fabric of the universes

* THIS IS SO FREAKING CONFUSING

* um, EW

* D (hey, I guessed the glyph before looking it up! It only took me three and a half years to get a hang of this "alphabet")

* Broyles knows all, Olivia. You should know that by now

* I think I prefer geek!Linc

* I was gonna say use a tracking device! I are smart today

* what'd the bottom of the tablet say? "[something](of this device?) is prohibited." Inquiring minds want to know

* I'm betting that alternate Astrid will be the one to figure out Broyles' deception

* E

* Walternate is wearing an amber tie. I'm just sayin'.

* ...say what? Peter's mommy ftw! (maybe)

* lol! Oh, Astrid. You're awesome

* Reidin (Reiden? Reidan?) Lake? (or not)

* I liked it better when they used to drive through the name signs

* whoops. slight kink in the plan, there

* shoot, I forgot where the dot was before I got to the other page. so either A, B, G, or H

* oh jeez. poor Walter. this scene is going to break my heart, isn't it?

* PARALLELS

* will this Walter get his white tulip?

* aw, Olivia and Peter used to have conversations on that bench in S1. MORE PARALLELS

* bad guys always have the worst aim.

* yay for the return of Linc's glasses!

* yeah, Peter, she thinks she has to die anyway. Plus, y'know, this is Olivia -- she isn't really as careful about her personal well-being as she should be

* T

* I ::heart:: awkward!Olivia

* okay, if Peter's wearing a t-shirt over a long-sleeved shirt, I feel slightly less nerdy that I do that too (I sort of internally refer to it as The Sheldon Look even though I've been doing it for years longer than that show's been on the air)

* dammit, Peter. I HEART YOU. (when you're not being all stupid about knowing which woman you're sleeping with, anyway)

* wait, I'm confused (that's pretty standard with this show...). Are they "working on" Nina or was she the person on the other end of the line? And if it's the latter, does that mean they're working on Olivia and that's why Nina's been abducting her? And... is this why Olivia has to die?

* TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES

* H (DEATH. this does not bode well. especially given September's warning and the ep title for two weeks hence)

In conclusion: *brain 'splodes*
