Which is probably fitting as this is post number one thousand (?!) and I originally joined the LJ community in order to keep up with fandom. Mostly Sheppard/Weir fic, actually, because everyone was disappearing off the yahoogroups s/w mailing list and I didn't want to miss anything!
So, about a month ago, I got a message from
nickelmountain requesting permission to turn
Like This (Peter/Olivia, PG) into a podfic. Cool, eh? And now
it's up! Go take a listen. (The song at the end contains the F word, so if that bothers you stop listening after 'the end'.) Total length is just under nineteen minutes. She has a lovely speaking voice. Go, listen, leave feedback. *shoos*
While I love that Castle hasn't had a hiatus or been doing a tonne of re-runs like so many other shows recently, I was a little worried that that meant that it would be airing its season finale in April rather than May, leaving us with an even longer summer hiatus, and I'd almost rather have a bit of a break now and then a shorter one over the summer. But then I realized that, like S2, S3 is twenty-four eps long (rather than the twenty-two that seems to be the average for most other series) and now I am most pleased. :D
Also, I now have this really weird personal canon thing in my head where Beckett and Esposito had a fling either before they started working together or just at the beginning of their partnership, and that thought just won't leave me alone. It's based somewhat on the fact that he seems to know her better than Ryan does, and is more comfortable talking to her about non-work-related stuff than Ryan. So, yes. I'm not sure what to make of that. o.O (And yes, Lanie already knows about this. *nods*)
I was somewhat amused at the fact that this week's Bones featured an actual case (though I don't think they've solved it yet IRL?). Canadian representation ftw! \o/ Even if the guy was slightly nerdy. I liked him. (And I totally called the killer the second I saw him.) (Also, I ID'd that one actor as the guy who played mini!Jack in Fragile Balance on SG-1. This week, I win at TV!)
Nostalgic fun: I have *cough*acquired*cough* the first season of Sliders. I think I will watch that once I'm finished my Castle re-watch.
Speaking of Castle, I really should start that vid that
december21st and I are making. *cough* Especially since last night I mapped out most of the clips I want to use to another song after I'm done this one. Well, Easter weekend is coming up in just two weeks, so there's a four-day weekend to get much accomplished. :D
Dear Muse,
Where are you? I miss you muchly! Please return soon.
Antsy,
Me
And since this is a fandom post, and nothing is more fandomy than a convention, I leave you with a link to
Polaris. If you can make it to Toronto in mid-July, you should come! Guests currently include Ben Browder, Armin Shimerman, Adam Baldwin, Meaghan Rath, Brandon Sanderson, and Charlaine Harris, in addition to a number of other authors. This is Polaris' twenty-fifth anniversary, and will be my fifth attendance with
vicki_james98. Good times ahead, oh yes.
And thus concludes post number one thousand.
