A weekend of fun should not require me to get up before 6am, goshdarnit. But it's worth it. =D
This is the first time I've had to get myself to the train station, but I managed just fine. Minus sore shoulders from lugging the backpack and laptop, but I haven't spilled my tea yet so we'll call it a win.
It's kind of challenging to type while the train is moving. It's kind of bumpy/sway-y. But free wifi is new so I shan't complain. :)
There are many cute guys who work for Via Rail. I need to learn how to flirt.
Two hours 'til I arrive at the train station where
vicki_james98 will pick me up, and then the fun officially begins! Although, she informs me that there will be no singing of "I am a C" this year, and I'm not sure it's truly an official Polaris weekend kickoff without getting the song stuck incessantly in my head for the next several weeks. :p
Hmm, read or watch Fringe? Decisions, decisions....
ETA: Update:
* the ceiling of the train is painted blue with clouds. Either this is new or I've just never noticed before. It's kind of amusing
* something smells like feet. Probably someone's feet.
* there are an awful lot of downed power lines not too far north of my city. I wonder if last night's storm hit this area harder than it hit ours?
* I find myself wondering what it would be like to work for Via Rail. It seems like it might be an interesting job. On the other hand, riding a train back and forth all day long might get boring fairly quickly.
One more hour!
