Wow, so I haven't posted in a long time. o__o Sorry to everyone I've missed journal entries for... I've gotten way too behind to read them all. D: Sorry about that.
So I'm working full time at StudioYCreations now (http://www.studioycreations.com) and it's been very tiring, but hey, at least there's no homework involved, which is the high point of everyday. Just going home and being able to crash has got to be one of the greatest feelings. Ahaha, if only life were so sweet. I inflict so much work on myself sometimes, aha. As soon as I get home (and even before I get home) I draw commissions. Or comic pages. I feel productive, even though I'm not creating any works of art. : < That's starting to really annoy me. My tablet has been such a bitch lately. It's so cheap and crappy and it isn't Wacom therefor is must suck ass. I've been trying to save up for a nicer one but DAMN they're pricey SOB's. So with the tablet I have right now it's pretty much impossible to colour anything decently. I don't know how I've struggled through the past few years with the one I have. Probably because I used Corel Painter a lot... which automatically gets your brush strokes a nice point at the end. (did I mention my tablet has no tip sensitivity?)
eheh... tip sensitivity...
Grah. And I really wanted to CG some shit before the anime con here in Calgary so I could like... you know.. sell bookmarks and stuff, but I don't think I'll have ANYTHING new for Otafest. : | Maybe I'll try cel shading them. That could work.. if I use the pen tool. The pen tool is my beeeest friend. 8D....
Something else that's exciting but will most likely end up amounting to nothing, an English manga publishing company by the name of COmi!Go (i think...) contacted me about a weird project that they need a character designer for. They haven't divulged any details yet, but I'm hopeful it will be cool. These are the guys that published Cantarella, if you've heard of it. They're fairly small at the moment, but I'm sure they'll grow just like all the rest have.
So cross your fingers for me. I usually have a knack at getting really awesome jobs without doing much. AKA, StudioYCreations, all I did was send the President a few images of mine and he pretty much hired me on the spot. And my kick ass old receptionist job that was boring but paid well... anyways. My sister thinks I'm innately lucky. : x
