Show rant.
Ok, well as most of you know, I perform doing the sideshow thing as an extra job. (One of the few jobs that I actually really love doing, yet people think that I do it out of some sort of bullshit artistic reason.)
I'm just pissed because I wasted a week hammering out the details over the phone with a guy that runs a haunted house out of town, and was wanting for me to travel 120 miles one way for the weekend, stay in some clap-trap motel overnight and work the following night.
Plus I had to pay my safety tech (friend of mine is a para-medic and sideshow apprentice), travel expenses, plus all of the crap I destroy during a show.
What pisses me off is that everything was cool over the phone, until we started talking about it via email . (because that could be considered a contract by then) It was then decided that they were out of budget for me.
I swear haunted house and renfair promoters are the sketchiest people to ever work with/for.
I'm also really pissed because I cleared my schedule and was not taking other bookings because I was getting this show.
