Well aside from moving my good friend DJ Devilboy's gear on Friday and Saturday, I managed to get roped in on working the renassance fair. (I'm not spelling fair with an E at the end)
Ok, well fine throw on some half assed cheater garb, grab my gear and away I go.
Things that I learned/observed:
I need more beer for this.
Trying to teach kids how to use a bow when their parrents are trying to coach them behind me is a pain in the ass.
Don't use my better arrows becuase they either get shot over the backstop and into a ravine with a 30 foot dropoff.
Watching some smartass kid trying to shoot my 60 lb draw recurve bow is oddly amusing, espically when they scrape the string right across their forearm.
Oh and punching my arrows 6 to 8 inches through a 1/2 inch plywood backstop is amusing considering the distance and poundage of my bow.
Well off to buy new arrows.
Oh and I almost got recruited to do the jousting becuase they found out that I have a high pain threshold, I weld and I know how to ride horses.
And some guy last night broke his fucking neck at the fair, because he was screwing around with a 4-wheeler rolled it over onto his face, no helmet, nothing. We had to call in the life flight. Scary shit.
And as usuial I'm surnburnt to a crisp, does anybody have any good remedys for sunburns aside from allovera?
