Worst Jobs in History is one of my favorite shows right now - it's hosted by Tony Robinson* (Baldrick!), and does pretty much what it says, ie show the worst jobs in history. it's very funny and very interesting, and I need to get my hands on the book series as well. tonight's episode was especially cool because it covered the Georgian period, with a hefty segment devoted to the worst jobs in the Royal Navy. it was cool watching that section and being like "oh, I know that, they talk about that in book #blahblahblah in the Aubery/Maturin series" (where pretty much every job could qualify as being pretty sucktacular, even captain). next week is the Victorian era, which will probably cover "prostitute", because it was both a horrific job and it gives them another opportunity to put him in a dress (that happens an awful lot). yay.
