1. Open up a blank canvas and paste the image you want to use. I will be using a base from killerbases since I'm obviosly to lazy to make my own :) 2. Do the usual, screen, soft light, sharpen ect. This step can very much be ignored though. I duplicated my base and set it to soft light @ 30%. Merge all layers.

3. Take this texture made by indienotebook (yay! Go Chris!) and paste it UNDER your image base. Set the image base to Darken . You can set it to Multiply but Darken gives it more of an interesting effect. :)

4. Now, move around your image till it only covers half of the texture; you can cover however much of the texture if you please. Duplicate the image base and desturate. Erase any part of the duplicated image that covers the original image (the colour one). Mess around with this step all you like.

5. Click on your texture layer, zoom in and with your pen tool make a thin rectangle in the black area. (Make sure your settings are like mine)

6. Look at your layers palette, you should have a Paths tab (if not go to Windows >> And Look for Paths, click it :) ) Now in the paths tab window thing, click the circle that looks has alot of dots (I suck at explaining these things -_-) then duplicate the selected area.

7. Since my rectangle thing is horizontal I rotated it 90 degrees clockwise. :) This can be done by Edit >> Transform >> Rotate 90 CW. Then move it between the two images.

And there you have it! You can add text and such. Excuse my inability to be literate -_-

Other results achieved with same tecnique -
