theatrical_muse #189: a conversation when what you said was not what you were thinking

"How hard is it to get a little service at this place?!"

Very hard, unless more waitstaff is hired. "Hi, sorry for the delay, was there something that you were in need of?"

"Better service, for one."

And I'm in need of a spot of appreciation from time to time, you haven't yet seen me yelling about. "I'll take it up with the manager, then."

"This meat is too rare for my taste. I want you to go back there and cook me up something edible."

Maybe I would, if I actually cooked here. "You ordered that medium well, sir."

"I did not!"

"It's right here on the order form."

"Then you goofed up."

My ears are better than your tastebuds, apparently. "How would you have preferred it?"

"More done than this slop!"

I'm gonna slop you upside the head soon... "I'm sorry, but you'll have to be charged extra for a replacement meal."

"But I don't want this!"

"It's what you ordered."

"I can't stand the people here or your attitude! See if I ever come here again!"

Don't let the door hit you on the arse on your way out. "Have a nice day, sir."
