And there you have it --

It is my final night here in England. I have had a lovely time overall (despite countless injuries, mostly minor, but really, what else is new?). Here was how I spent my final afternoon and night:

After class I traveled to Leicester Square with Ryan, Donna, Jeanette, Julie, Katie, and Kristin. We ate lunch at Garfunkel's, which I was not particularly impressed with, though Ryan said it was a chain and a different one had been very good earlier in the week. I got my ticket for The Female of the Species. Ryan and Katie ran to the theatre where Phantom of the Opera is playing to get their tickets for tonight. We parted ways with Kristin (who it was lovely to see) and came back to the hotel. Ryan and I rehearsed with Steve, Jeanette, Donna, and Heather for our fun final presentation at the party. The performance went very well -- people laughed, which is all we wanted. Ate some snacky-type foods and received my certificate from the Institute.

Following the final gathering/party, Ryan, Katie and I headed to the subway in order to go our seperate ways to our shows. I actually felt very comfortable going to a show alone -- really a great way to end the trip. I ended up talking to four middle-aged Americans sitting behind me. They were trying to figure out how the designers had gotten ahold of so many books (seriously, they covered the stage from end to end, top to bottom), so I explained the purpose of a scrim (the books were painted on) and a few other aspects of the show. They were very sweet and kept asking me theatre-related questions, which was neat to be the "expert" on all things theatre. The show was not what I expected, but it was good. The cast was AMAZING -- all had done film, television, and radio, in addition to their extensive theatre credits. The script was good, but I kept expecting something more to happen. Overall, the show was fun and mostly unpredictable. I left the theatre, got the subway back to the hotel and...here I am. My suitcase and extra carry-on are packed. I only have to finish packing my backpack in the morning and I'll be ready to go.

This may be my final entry from England. I will try to update one last time tomorrow before I head out (the flight isn't until 7:30pm), but I believe the plan thus far is to do a bit more exploring (the hotel will hold our bags for the day), then head to the airport around 3:30 to be there by 4:30.

Wish me luck on the journey home! Hope all is still well with each of you and you will hear from me again soon!
