Hey...
The Dears from Montreal came to rock out in London on Friday.

The Dears
The Fruitbats: The Fruitbats are another one of those bands that are on an established label (SubPop), but have a fanbase of about 4. Their lead singer was a pretty cool guy in conversation, and these Chicago natives first song was cool, but then their second song was cool the first time I heard it when it was their first song and their third song was cool the first time I heard it when it was their second song...you get the idea.
The Dears: This was time number four seeing The Dears and they put on a great show. Unlike last time I saw them with Matthew Good, they had a longer set time than just half an hour, so they were able to play some of their older material including "Heathrow or Deathrow", which was rad. Their guitarist used to play in Thrush Hermit, which I hadn't realized, but thought was pretty cool. Go check The Dears out at www.thedears.org
In other (very old) news, TwoThirtyEight broke up and I'm sad. So did Living Sacrifice. However, my friend Trevor's band FM Static just signed with Tooth and Nail Records. He also plays in Thousand Foot Krutch. Victory Records has signed a pile of bands in the space of about 3 seconds, including Streetlight Manifesto (which includes members of Catch 22) and Bayside (the Americans, not the Canadian Bayside).
