Happy Halloween!

...I guess? Halloween was so much awesomer when we were little. And yes I just said awesomer. I was so disappointed in the kids tonight. We really didn't get that many kids, which is surprising since we have a condo, and condo developments were always considered Trick-or-Treating Heavens.

Probably 1/3 of the kids out weren't even wearing costumes. Whatever happened to the excitement of coming up with an awesome costume? I also saw a few 12- and 13-year-old girls dressed up as slutty something-or-others. One girl was a slutty little red riding hood, sporting a costume complete with red fishnet thigh-highs and all. She didn't even have boobs to fill out the top of it!

My mom would NEVER have let me out of the house in something like that. One year when I was a princess, I got some hideous pink 80's-like prom gown from a consignment shop. It was strapless but long, so it covered me entirely. My mom made me wear a beige turtleneck with it. If my costume didn't somehow involve me wearing a sweatsuit (i.e. when I was a bunny I wore a grey one, when I was a devil I wore a red sweatsuit), I usually was required to wear a turtleneck and leggings beneath it all. Awesome. If thigh-high fishnets even crossed my mind she would've locked me up for the night.

I miss being a little kid, though. I remember being in elementary school and the class being totally out of control with excitement. The day felt so long, even though it was dark by 5pm. We'd go trick-or-treating for what seemed like forever, but in reality was probably less than 2 hours.

Then there was the legendary Candy Swap. I would give Chris my Milky Ways, he'd give me his Snickers. I'd do everything I could do get rid of those repulsive Now and Laters, but no one ever liked them. "Fun Size" bars, though never fun, are smaller now than ever before.

It's disappointing that I don't like Halloween anymore when it used to be so fun. Oh well, I guess it's just part of getting older. Hope everyone else had a good one, though!

Massachusetts in something like 2 and 1/2 weeks! And I'll be up again the following weekend - so much MA in one month!
