Days 73, 74 and 75

Oct 29, 2007 11:58

So, it's been a bit since I've updated.  Suffice it to say, Sarah got here in one piece.

Nothing happened Friday.

Sarah came in on Saturday night, we went straight off to the pub where there a few of "the boys."  Golds ended up getting into a fight, as per usual.  I drank a little too much and then we talked about QI and Stephen Fry for a few hours after we got home.

Sunday morning we went to mass.  Pretty standard, though I think every child in Bishop's Stortford was in the church crying all at the same time.  Funny moment when Canon Eddie attempted to finish his little bit at the end of mass and the organ player cut him off, he had to yell over him and as he was speaking the organist tapped a key to annoy him.  I found it highly amusing

After mass, we walked home and bought loads of candy and things that are generally Bad For You.

We caught the train down to London to go see the Comedy Store Players for their 22nd Anniversary.  For those of you who aren't aware, the Comedy Store Players are: Josie Lawrence, Richard Vranch, Lee Simpson, Jim Sweeney, Andy Smart, Neil Mullarckey, and Paul Merton.  If you've ever watched the UK version of Whose Line, you will recognize at least 2 or 3 of those names.  The show was absolutely brilliant, there was a Gillbert and Sullivan operetta parody that was particularly good.

After the show we stuck around and met some of the Players.  Josie Lawrence was first on the bill, I didn't have anything much to say other than an extremely geeky "I grew up watching Whose Line..."  Anyhow, got a picture with her which you can see here.  Neil Mullarkey was next (you may not know him by name, but if you've seen the first Austin Powers film, he was the guard that gave Austin Powers all of his stuff back after he was...defrosted.  He had the "Swedish-made penis enlarger pump" lines.)  Spoke to him for a few minutes, still trying to figure out if he's gay, married or attached in some way.  If not, plans will be made.  Here's the picture.  Last was Lee Simpson, who is gawky and adorable.  We got a picture taken by a supposed photographer, however, I wouldn't have framed it quite the same way.  On the bright side, because of his inability to frame a shot, we got the back of Richard Vranch's head in our picture.  So, vis a vis...I got a picture with Richard Vranch as well (not to mention the Comedy Store logo in the back of the picture).  Click here for that one.

Today we're off to the Barbican Centre and the Oratory.  Will post about that.  Eventually.

inebriation, things that are bad for you, neil mullarckey, pictures, richard vranch, london, st. joseph's, josie lawrence, lee simpson, comedy store players
