I may have had Covid in late 2019, before it was officially in this country. I was never sure because I didn't have medical treatment (it was clearly a virus, so antibiotics wouldn't help...) and I'm old enough and disabled enough to apparently have little survival chance if I did get C19.
I've been ill ever since. The cough was so bad, and held on for so long, that the GP checked me for lung cancer; I didn't have it.
It was a tremendous relief when I got my sense of smell and taste back, months after the original illness (and about a month before "losing the sense of smell" was declared to be a major symptom.)
I was still quite ill when I was found to have no anti-bodies to Covid; that was about eight months after the mystery illness and I'd hardly recovered at all. I've been trying desperately to shield, ever since - especially as I've been allergic to every antibiotic tried for other things, ever since the mystery illness.
