anticlimax

So today, I had my last day of uni lectures and tutes for this degree. It was a complete anticlimax! Really, I should've gone to the Pancake Manor and devoured a big plate of blueberry pancakes for lunch like I remember doing in my first year of uni, but instead it was rainy and my headphones were stuck so I couldn't listen to Heavenly while I was walking in the rain and I was terribly distraught when DF told me while I was sipping my earl grey that he didn't like deep, booming voices like Stephen Merritt and Calvin Johnson. Really, such statements just kill me!

Adding to the anticlimatic nature of the day, I had my first job rejection letter. Bah! It's one of those things where it's getting me down a little bit, but I know there are plenty of other opportunities out there. My flight on Tuesday is at 6am - scary! Now I'm scared about this job interview - I really hope it goes well.

On the upside, I had my makeup done today. It's weird, because it's such a promo thing and I did get suckered into buying something, but I dunno, I would never do make up like this, ever. The eyes are over the top, and I feel like a bit of a drag queen. Kinda relieved I'm not going out tonight.

Also, I saw a really cute summer dress today. It was a stripey cotton sleeveless dress with frills around the armholes, a v-neck, and a frilled skirt. So lovely. A little bit little-girlish, but perfect for summer. Classic Alex problem though = too expensive. I shouldn't look at these shops. And why is it I always make a beeline for dresses, regardless of the shop I'm in, when it's clear I should be buying practical work clothes or a new skirt instead? Grrr...

I realised yesterday that my birthday falls the day before pay day. I suspect my birthday is going to be another anticlimatic day in itself, where I'll end up going to work, maybe leaving at lunchtime and pissing off down to the pub on my own to bet on the horses.
