Anyone else love Vertical Horizon?
Just listening to their "Go" CD, and it is fantabulous. I have no idea where these guys disappeared, but I know that they were having a lot of problems with their record label at one point. Their music is so chilled out and their lyrics really smart, raw and meaningful. I could listen to them all day long.
Why is it that we get such crap in music nowadays and a great group like VH gets lost without a trace? "Gimme Gimme" comes to mind -- AAAARRGGHHHH!! -- or that godawful song by that Colbie girl, both of which I avoid listening to, because once they get inside my head, they are stuck there forever. Mainstream music today is barely worth discussing. There is a handful of singers and bands that make quality songs, but some others... Songs that get air play are often catchy without substance or bland to death. I like sugary stuff and I have my pleasures -- which I do not classify as guilty, LOL -- but I cannot listen to that stuff all the time. There is a number of good tunes out there, but many of them sound almost like one same song, recycled over and over again.
OK, rant over. I really felt the need to vent about this topic, since I always remember it when I try to listen to the radio in the mornings before work, try being the operative word.
