With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?"

Dad happened to see The Pentamerone on the dining room table today. He's been with Mum long enough to know a book like that doesn't come cheap. Now, I make all my purchases on his account, so he'd eventually see that astronomical sum I spent on books. Though I have my own money, I have no clue how much there is, and he won't even give me access until I leave Hogwarts. Something about how I'll need something to start when I leave. He's been putting stuff in there for years. I suppose I'll thank him later.

So I told him.

And he didn't bat an eye.

Which is odd. Because that's a significant amount more then I've ever spent on books (or anything else) before. And when he saw the shamanic stuff, with Mum's friend's name, number, and address taped to it, he just told me that some items had multiple uses, and I should check everything they could be used for to ensure that I didn't buy two of the same item unless I wanted/needed to.

Now, as far as I know, we're not rolling in money, unlike some families. We've never been badly off, but we've never been rranked with the wealthiest. Dad's an Unspeakable-we have no clue what he does. But whatever it is, he clearly brings home a sizeable paycheque.
