I had a really nice visit with Dean and his family yesterday. His mother is such a kind woman, she makes you feel right at home (right down to the interrogation about whether you have a girlfriend!). Not to mention, she makes the best hippocras going. It was good to see that she seems to be doing well, for someone who’s been pretty ill recently. I hope I was a good model for you, Dean, I’m used to being on the other side of things, so that was interesting.
Susan came over today and showed me her holiday snaps. Her cousins are really cute, but they do look like little terrors. The picture where they've somehow gotten inside the kappa enclosure at the Vienna Zoo is really something. And she brought me back a sovenier souveneir present! A little dancing skeleton, which is really cool! It's from the bone church near Prague. Apparently they've got this place that's filled with human bones that these monks made into chandeliers and stuff. A bit morbid, those Eastern Europeans! Anyway, it’s nice to have my favourite neighbor back. Susan, don’t think I’m going to let you spend the rest of your holiday holed up with only a stack of books for company. You’re coming out at least once. Don’t worry though, I promise everyone will keep their clothes on.
Gin, your generous brother has sent me roughly half my weight in cheesecake. Come over and help me out?
Life has been really good lately. I’m almost afraid that everything is going too well and of these days the other shoe is going to drop.
